Dr. Grossfeld joined the Marin Urology Medical Group in May 2003 and currently serves as medical director of the multidisciplinary genitourinary oncology program at Marin General Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and his specialty area of interest is urologic oncology.
Dr. Grossfeld completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Cornell University and medical school at the University of Southern California, where he graduated as the highest-ranking student in his class. Dr. Grossfeld then completed two years of general surgery training and four years as a resident in urology at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Grossfeld came to the Bay area for a 2-year sub-specialty fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. He remained at UCSF as an assistant professor in urology, and his clinical and research interests focused on the diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. He has authored or co-authored nearly 90 peer-reviewed articles and 20 book chapters on these subjects, and was co-editor of the American Cancer Society book on prostate cancer.
